Spring Registration is Now Open

Harlem Little League is pleased to open registration for our Spring 2018 season. Register now to ensure your child's placement on a team.

New in 2018: Harlem Little League is pleased to announce we'll offer a softball program for girls ages 9-10! Softball had been a part of our program in the distant past and we're excited to welcome more girls to the game. See more details below.

For baseball ages 5-12, everyone who registers on time is guaranteed a space on a team. Once registration closes, we will start a waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis. Our Softball Division will be limited to one team; slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Our Juniors Division require a tryout. To be notified of upcoming registrations, please join our email list.

To register, log on to your account at harlemlittleleague.org. Players new to Harlem Little League must:

  1. Upload a copy of their birth certificate
  2. Email a copy of proof of where you live or attend school to our player agent, Omar Taveras at playeragent@harlemll.org.
  3. All new baseball players with a league age of 7 or older must attend a skills assessment; Juniors and Softball players must attend a tryout.

Softball

We will offer a single softball team for girls ages 9-10. Utilize this Softball-only Age Chart to determine your daughter's league age, which may be different that her baseball age. We will field only one softball team; limited spots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once roster spots have been filled, you can put your daughter's name on our waitlist. Cost for the program will be $100.

Baseball

All baseball divisions are co-ed. The early-bird registration fee is $100 for all players with a league age of 5-8 years old and $125 for those ages 9-14. Prices will increase by $25 in each division on January 1, 2018. The registration fee covers the cost of your child’s uniform, playing equipment and umpire fees. Families are responsible for purchasing gloves and athletic cups, which are required for boys at games and practices.

Financial Aid

The League will waive all or part of the registration fee if you need financial assistance. No child will be turned away from Harlem Little League because of an inability to pay. Therefore, you should register your child on time and not let a lack of funds stop you from registering.

We encourage families to pay at least a portion of the fee for each child. Our fees are kept deliberately low (lower than that of other leagues) in an attempt to make it possible for everyone to play. The actual cost to run this program is about $175 per player. If you need financial assistance, please let us know what amount, if any, you can contribute by clicking on this link to request financial aid. All information will be kept confidential.

Skills Assessments

Skills Assessments will be held in February. All players new to Harlem Little League with a league age of 7 or older are expected to attend. This is NOT a tryout, merely an opportunity for our coaches to evaluate a child's skills so that we can best try and balance our team assignments.

Season Schedule

Practice typically begins in mid-March and our annual Opening Day Parade and first games will be played on Saturday, April 7. The season runs through Saturday, June 30.

Practices are held on at least one weekday afternoon each week; games are held on weekends, with children ages 7+ generally playing both Saturdays and Sunday afternoons.

Tournament Teams

Each season, Harlem Little League enters teams in the Little League Baseball Postseason Tournaments. These teams are made up of players aged 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 who are selected through a tryout process. Extra practices are required and play in the tournament begins in late June and extends until teams are eliminated from contention. All tournaments are double-elimination leading up to the Little League World Series in August in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Our 2017 Juniors Tournament Team won the District Title and advanced all the way to the Sectional Championship Game, playing well into July.

Another opportunity for increased playing time comes over the Memorial Day Weekend, when Harlem Little League generally participates in a fun, round-robin style tournament with other teams in Manhattan.
