Softball
We will offer softball for girls ages 10-16. Spring 2023 softball utilizes the 2023 age chart. Please note, your daughter's softball league age may be different than her baseball age. Cost for the program will be $100. Please note: Our softball teams participate in interleague play, necessitating travel to other fields throughout Manhattan.
Tee Ball
Co-ed Tee Ball is offered for ages 5-6 years old based on the 2023 age chart. The registration fee is $125. Games and practices are held at Jackie Robinson Park on 153rd and Bradhurst. Tee ballers generally practice once per week and play games on Saturdays. The registration fee covers the cost of your child’s uniform, playing equipment and umpire fees. Families are responsible for purchasing gloves and athletic cups, which are required for boys at games and practices.
Baseball
All baseball divisions are co-ed. The registration fee is $125 for our Rookie Divisions (ages 7-8) and $150 for our AAA (ages 9-11), Majors (9-12), and Seniors (13-16) Divisions. Spring 2023 registrations are based on the 2023 age chart. The registration fee covers the cost of your child’s uniform, playing equipment and umpire fees. Families are responsible for purchasing gloves and athletic cups, which are required for boys at games and practices. Our home fields are in Harlem; players in our AAA division and younger will play only in Harlem. Teams in our Senior Divisions will participate in interleague play necessitating travel to other fields throughout Manhattan. Please note: Our Seniors Division does require a tryout and team placement is not guaranteed.
New in 2023: Harlem Little League is changing the alignment for our AAA and Majors Divisions. One thing that will not change: All players who register on-time will be placed on a team. Players ages 9-11 who wish to play in the Majors Division must attend an assessment to determine their eligibility for the higher division. Players will be assessed on their general baseball abilities, including but not limited to (1) Ability to consistently catch and throw the baseball (2) Ability to consistently make contact while hitting and (3) General understanding of baseball rules. Based on the results of the assessment, players with a baseball age of 9-11 will be placed in the appropriate division based on their skill-level, not age. The assessment is mandatory for any players who wish to be considered for the Majors Division and have a league age of 9, 10, or 11 years old. Those who are baseball age 12 must play in the Majors Division. If players do not attend the mandatory assessment, they will be placed in the age-appropriate division (9-10 years for AAA; 11-12 for Majors).

Financial Aid
No child will be turned away from Harlem Little League because of an inability to pay. Therefore, you should register your child on time and not let a lack of funds stop you from registering.
If your family needs financial assistance for Harlem Little League's Fall 2022 or 2023 Spring Season, please apply for the T-Mobile Call-Up Grant. T-Mobile and Little League share Harlem Little League's belief that every child should have the chance to experience Little League, regardless of their financial or personal situation. The T-Mobile Call-Up Grant helps supplement Harlem Little League's scholarship funds.
If you do not qualify for the grant, or need assistance beyond what it offers, Harlem Little League offers additional financial assistance. We encourage families to pay at least a portion of the fee for each child. Our fees are kept deliberately low (lower than that of other leagues) in an attempt to make it possible for everyone to play. The actual cost to run this program is about $239 per player. If you need financial assistance, please let us know what amount, if any, you can contribute by clicking on this link to request financial aid. All information will be kept confidential.
Skills Assessments
Skills Assessments for the Spring 2023 season will be held in February. This is NOT a tryout; it's merely an opportunity for our coaches to evaluate a child's skills so that we can best try and balance our team assignments.
Season Schedule
Spring 2023 team assignments will be announced in early March 2023. Practices begin the shortly thereafter, and our annual Opening Day Parade and first games will be played on Saturday, April 1, 2023. The season runs through late June 2023.
Practices are held on at least one weekday afternoon each week; games are held on weekends, with children ages 7+ generally playing both Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Teams in our Softball, Majors and Seniors Divisions can expect to travel throughout Manhattan to play interleague games for at least a portion of their schedule.
Tournament Teams
Each season, Harlem Little League enters teams in the Little League Baseball Postseason Tournaments. These teams are made up of players ages 9+ who are selected through a tryout process. Extra practices are required and play in the tournament, which begins in late June and extends until teams are eliminated from contention. All tournaments are double-elimination leading up to their respective divisions World Series in August.
Another opportunity for increased playing time comes over the Memorial Day weekend, when Harlem Little League generally participates in a fun, round-robin style tournament with other teams in our district.
