Harlem LL Set to Host Second Annual 13th Cup Tourney

Harlem Little League, in conjunction with Congressman Adriano Espaillat, hosts the 13th Cup Tournament this weekend, August 17-18, pitting Little Leagues from across the Congressman's district against one another in a friendly, double-elimination, round-robin style tournament.

The festivities kickoff at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building on 125th Street and Lenox Avenue. Congressman Espaillat will lead a short parade to the field. Opening ceremony and remarks will follow before first pitch.

Little Leagues from across his district will represent their neighborhoods: Harlem LL (Harlem), Inwood LL (Inwood), Grand Slam LL (Bedford Park) and Michael Buczek LL (Washington Heights). All games will be played at Shea Field in Marcus Garvey Park. The schedule is as follows:

Saturday, August 17
Game 1: Bedford Park vs. Inwood, 10:30am
Game 2: Washington Heights vs. Harlem, 1pm
Game 3: Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2, 3:30pm

Sunday, August 18
Game 4: Inwood vs. Harlem, 10am
Game 5: Washington Heights vs. Loser Game 4, 12:30
Championship Game: Winner Game 4 vs. Winner Game 5, 5pm
